Client's registration issues was created by Nicky
Hoping someone can help. I have a client that registered for a course. I can see the New registration email come in and then immediately afterwards I see a cancellation email come in. This happened 4 times.

I called her and all she did was open the Registration confirmation. We even did the registration with her and still go the same result. We then tried with a different email address and it worked. Thing is, I've had over a hundred registrations and no known issues.

Any idea why this could be happening to her? Could it be an issue on her side? What can cause the cancellation link to "run" when she opens the email?

Hello Nicky

Check the email message, make sure you don't use [CANCEL_REGISTRATION_LINK] tag. If you insert that tag, the link to cancel the registration will be included in the email

Maybe she clicked on that link and that causes the registration cancelled

Hi Tuan,

I want to include the link because I do want them to be able to cancel so it frees up space for other people.

I think what is happening is that the email security is "testing" the link before it gets delivered and then it gets cancelled because it's only happening to some clients and they never even receive the cancellation email.

Is there another way around it? I can get client to white list it but I'm afraid that by the time they get their IT on it there won't be anymore space (we have limitations).

Kindly advise the best approach.

Thank you,

Nicky

Does the user have to confirm their intention to cancel after clicking the Cancel link in the email, or does the cancellation happen immediately after clicking the link?

I haven't clicked a link yet to find out :)
If there is a second confirm step, then I don't think that the spam-check theory is correct. If there is no step, then maybe adding one should be considered.

Hi

For now, I guess you would have to ask them to whitelist it. I didn't think about the case where the link is tested, and there is no confirmation step as James suggested. This is something I won't add support for in the near future as I have other more important features I want to focus working on first

Regards,

Tuan
