Select and Text Input Custom Field

Hello,

I need a custom field, which will display a list of school names, and return the selected school's roll number. In simple terms, I want a control very similar to the "Select Event" control in the back end on the Registrants page. The data would come from a table, so the field would be like the SQL custom field, but I want the user to be able to type some text into the field, which will filter the possibilities.

Is it possible to easily include this field's functionality into the Custom Fields list?

Please first prepare the custom field, make sure the possible values are generated properly

Then send me the link to the page, I will tell you what file you need to modify to allow it is possible to search for option. I am thinking about using javascript chosen library to make it easier to select an option, but only when you complete the first step (setup the SQL filed properly)
