Registrants showing for next years event ? was created by Richard
I have recreated similar events to be held at same venues next year as this year and the players that registered for the events this year are shown as registered to attend the same event next year - im starting to get emails from them asking what is going on.
I dont want to delete the registrants really, how can i stop them being shown as attending the new event please?

The only time I've had this happen is when I updated an existing event to new dates and saved it, instead of clicking the [save as a copy] button to create a new event.
When a person registers, the Registrant record that is created contains the Event ID#. When you create a new event, there would be no Registrants with that Event ID associated because that ID was not in use before. If you updated an existing event, then all those Registrants are still associated with that event and they will receive notifications, etc, because according to the database they are registered for that event despite the new dates.

For the new event, please make sure it has an unique/new alias with the old event and it should work well
The other option would be go to Events Booking -> Configuration, look at SEF router settings tab, set Insert Event ID parameter to Yes and you won't have to worry about unique alias
