Custom registration handle counts new registrants?

Unfortunately it seems that we will have to use another system for the registration. For us Event Booking is an outstanding component which we have been using for many years now. Now the effective registration has to be on a different system (unfortunately). We will use Event Booking for the presentation on our homepage, since a lot of people know our site. We then will fill out the Custom registration handle. I have tested it and it works great. Now to my question. If a user uses our page and clicks on register, will Event Booking count this as a registration?

If not would it be possible to do that? Of course we would never know if our visitor did the registration on the custom handle, but it would be better than nothing.

Unfortunately, it is not possible. If you use custom registration handle URL, registration will be handled outside Events Booking and there is no way for Events Booking to know about the registration to count it, so it is not possible

BTW, what's the limitation of Events Booking which made you have to use a different tool for handle registration?

Sorry for not answering your question. Unfortunately it is not my decision. Event Booking is a fantastic tool and I wished we could still use the registration part. Our parent organization created a country wide registration platform which we have to use. We are creating all our events still with Event booking and then use the registration link.

You could use Bitly.com as a middleman in order to log your clickthroughs as Bitly provides stats when you create links through a free Bitly account. This would be 2 step because you would first have to create the link to your parent organization's reg site on Bitly, then paste the Bitly generated link into the custom reg field in EB.

If you wanted to keep everything in Joomla, you could use a redirect plugin (eg. ReDJ - www.selfget.com/downloads/category/3-redj.html ) to auto-redirect the event's normal registration link to a different URL. This would then take the place of entering anything into the Custom Reg URL field in EB, and it provides stats on the number of times the redirect has been triggered.

Still thinking about your advice. Will this also work if the destination URL is always a different one? It contains the number of the event, which is everytime different.
