Sorting by Country plus multiple dates problem was created by Helen Nunley
Hi,
I have events in many countries and several cities within each country. I'd like a way to sort by country.
The only way I thought to do this is to create a category for each country. This works great until you add the Multiple Dates Feature which spans into different locations and countries.
You create your parent event with your Category Country. Save. Then add a child event and set the second location. Save and Close. Then open the child event and select/change the category. Save and Close. This works great. But let's say you want to edit the parent event description. Open the parent event. Save and Close. And notice your Child Event Location and Categories now are exactly what your Parent Event has.
Thanks,
Helen

Sorry Helen. That's how the extension is decided to work. In this case, I guess you will have to create separate events manually (edit the original event, change date, then press Save as Copy button to create a new event to save time)

Hi Tuan,
I think what could work is if I did not Categorize by Country and could filter by Country somehow for a menu link. What I need is a way to show all upcoming events by Country.
Or optionally show all upcoming events by country and category, must match both.
Maybe by using a module. But the modules can filter by many MANY things but not by Country.
Would this be some thing I could make work if you tell me how?
What would you suggest??
Thanks,
Helen

What I decided to do was to keep the Country as a Category so I can filter by this for Menu uses. I can use the multiple dates feature if the event carries the same categories.
Then I am using Articles Anywhere by Regular Labs for the Intro and the Full description. That way, there is one place to update this info for the events.
Hope this might help anyone else in the same boat as me.
