Event that won't go away

I using EB 2.11.2 I have the "show child event under parent event" set to yes and I have the "hide past events" set to yes but an old event still shows up in the events list on my web site. It is not visible in the EB event list in the back-end so I can not delete it. I had a similar problem with an other even but found a registrant had not paid for the class and when I deleted her from the registrant list it disappeared from the site. This event however has no registrants and has expired long ago. Any way to get rid of it?

Option 1:If you have access to a Database manager or editor (eg. phpMyAdmin), view the "XYZ_eb_events" table (where XYZ is the prefix for your site), find the event(s) that you're having problems with, and change the value in the event(s)'s "Published" column to 0 (zero) in order to unpublish the event.
Option 2 (not really recommended...): Alternately, you can try deleting the whole event line from your #__eb_events table, but that might leave some orphaned data in other tables.

STANDARD DISCLAIMER WHEN I SUGGEST EDITING THE DB DIRECTLY: You can wreck your site. Double check your work doing before committing a change. Create a backup if you feel really paranoid.
