How to use Download ID

I see you have a new feature for updating called "Download ID".

Can you add a link to the documentation page on the "Download Ids" menu item?

Also, as an enhancement, could you add an option to each download ID to put a short description or "friendly" name for each ID?

But, right now I would like to read the documentation. I did a search on the forum, but didn't see anything about how to use it. Obviously I can put in an ID and save that, but when does it start needing it for updates, etc? Thanks

I am sorry for not having documentation for it yet. I will add it ASAP. Basically, the download ID allows you to update Events Booking to latest version without having to download it manually from our site and update manually

Instead, when you have download id enter, each time there is new version of Events Booking release, you can simply update it to latest version from within your Joomla site

I also spent time looking for this documentation (now 25 Feb 2017). After reading Stephan's message, I find out that I did not need to buy the upgrade ($40AUD) as I do not use Events Booking!
As your release notes said: "Add Download ID to allow you to upgrade new version from Back-end of Joomla site", I find this misleading.
My website is for a non-profit group and I have incurred an unnecessary expense.

I noticed on my JoomDonation Dashboard that my version required an upgrade but Joomla hadn't automatically notified me of this in the Joomla Control Panel. I noticed that JoomDonation was not listed in my Joomla list of 'update sites'.
So I went to your website, read your release notes, saw "Add Download ID to allow you to upgrade new version from Back-end of Joomla site" and presumed that the update would add JoomDonation to the list of 'update sites' but would need an ID to work.
Not finding any documentation about the ID, I found this topic thread where It sounded like the notification feature only applied to Events Booking.
This is not the case. JoomDonation is now listed in my 'update sites' and needs no ID.
My apologies. I misunderstood.
Perhaps you could edit your release notes to avoid such a misunderstanding.
