Export of events does not work

by clicking export events a file is downloaded and indicated as xlsx. However Excel cannot open the file. Looking into the data it shows instead of a list of events html data (joomla website code). How can I solve this?

I changed the output file to cvs. Now I have to import the data into excel, at least it works.

That's strange as it is working well here for me. What's the browser you are using? Could you please try to export it using Google Chrome?
