Link to document in Email to event participants was created by Emma Richardson
I am just trying to figure out if this has been fixed in a later release than the version I have (1.6). When you upload a document and link to it from the email to participants, the link is not generated correctly and does not include the website address so that recipients of the email cannot open it.

Hi Emma
Actually, it is removed by html editor you are using but we can configure it. What HTML editor you are using? For example, if you use TinyMCE, you can Go to Extensions -> Plugins Manager, find the plugin Editor - TinyMCE, click on it to edit
Then set URL parameter to Absolute (default it is Relative). After that, edit the message, save it again and the link contain site URL will be saved and it will solve your issue

Yes, just uncheck the Relative URL setting that is found in Editor Parameters under the Editor Profiles tab. (You have to do this for each working profile).
Oh, and thanks to Tuan for the hint above, this did resolve my issue!
