Discounts applicable to events but NOT to options

Like many users of Events Booking, we often have events where there may be several add-on options. For example a seminar may have an optional Dinner, or a day trip. We are currently setting these options up as custom fields, eg as radio buttons. We always invite members and non-members to all events, where members receive a discount to the events, applied automatically upon login. Also we offer coupon codes to supporters (who may OR may not be members) so that they may also receive the member level discount to the event. This causes two dilemmas:
1. How do we exclude the optional add-ons to the discounts for all registrants? In other words, how would we set it up so that although members and coupon holders receive a discount on the event ticket, they would pay FULL price for any add-on options they select. Can someone advise if this is currently possible?
2. How do we avoid a situation of 'double dipping' of discounts? For example if a member with a coupon code logs in and receives their discount automatically and THEN also uses a valid coupon code they receive a discount on their already discounted price. I guess if there was an option for the coupon codes that the code "can NOT be used with any other discount" then this situation would be solved. Although this seems a great idea to me, it would need to be requested by others for Tuan to look at implementing it. Any other ideas to solve this?
Comments/suggestions please?
