Can we turn tax off was created by Andrew Hicks
Or make it something that is editable only by super users? Or set (% rate) centrally per category and applied automatically to all events in that category?

Hi Andrew
At the moment, tax rate is controlled at event level, not at category level. So if you want to turn off tax, just edit the events, set tax rate to 0 and tax won't be used/

We will have many users setting up and running events through the website.
Unfortunately tax is a legal issue in the UK. If you charge tax when you should not, or fail to charge tax when you should, then you can be liable for big fines.
So if the event organiser edits the tax field incorrectly we can be liable. This is why we want to remove that field from event organiser control. I hope that makes clear why this is important.
Thanks for your help, as always.

You enable submit event from frontend? If so, you would need to edit the code to remove that field
Try to look at components/com_eventbooking/view/event/tmpl/form.php and components/com_eventbooking/view/event/tmpl/simple.php, you would see the field and can easily remove it
