Registration not completing with paypal payment

When paying with paypal, event booking redirects to paypal for payment and doesn't complete the registration process. Payments are going through, but registrants are not being registered. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Same on my site. Two registrants with this problem. For years no problem, what's wrong?

It's missing "payment_date" and the flag for "published" in Database.

Productiv: Joomla 3.5.1 / EB 2.4.3 / PHP 7.0.5

That mean PayPal failed to notify the system about the payment for some reasons. So :

1. If it happens all the time, we will have to check it to see why it happens on your site

2. If it just happens with one or two of registrants, then It is hard to check and we might have to "live" with it as it is not fully controlled by our system, we also depends on PayPal for sending notification, too (this issue sometime but rarely happens on our website, too)

In Katrina case, if I remember correctly, she reported that after updating to version 2.4.3, it works well

I have one registrant with 2.4.3, But will wait and see what happens.

I am having the same problem with Membership Pro and also Event Booking. Some registrations are confirmed and some are not, despite the payment being made. Have PayPal made a change to their system recently. This alway used to work reliably.

Same problem for me via Paypal, Payment is done but customer is not registered. Any suggestions?

Event Booking: 2.11.2
Joomla: 3.6.4

Out of 40 paypal bookings since I updated to 2.11.2, this problem occurred on 1 payment.

Its a fairly serious problem, as it was just pure luck that I spotted that the payment had actually been made.

Hi Josef

Does it happens with all of the registration? Or it only happens with all registrations?

1. I will first explain how Events Booking works with PayPal:

- When someone register for an event using PayPal payment method, they will be redirected to PayPal for processing payment. When payment is completed, PayPal will notify Events Booking about this payment (it is called PayPal IPN) so that Events Booking will know about the payment, validate it, update status of the registration record, sending emails.. If for some reasons, Events Booking doesn't receive this notification, it won't work

2. If it happens with all of the booking, there are many reasons could cause the issue:

- Your site is located on a local computer, so PayPal IPN message could not reach your site to notify about the payment. If it happens, please upload your site to a live, public accessible server

- Your site is on offline mode, not online (or protected by htaccess password). If that happens, please make the site online and test it again

- PayPal IPN is disabled on your PayPal account. To know if it enabled or disabled, go to Events Booking -> Payment Plugins, click on os_paypal payment plugin to edit, set LOG IPN Mesages parameter to Yes, then run a new test. After that, submit a support ticket sending me super admin account of your site so that I can check the log

3. If it happens only sometime (like in Donal case), it is out of our control. The reason is because we depend on PayPal, if the IPN message could not be delivered to Events Booking (I know it sometime happens), Events Booking won't know about this payment, so it could not update status of registration record, sending email,.. So in this case, you will have to approve the registration record manually. Go to Events Booking -> Configuration, set Show Incomplete Payment records config option to Yes, you will see these missing records (include the records which registrants ignore payment). Check the record, make sure you received payment, and change status of it to Paid

Hi Tuan,

thank you for your quick and detailed answer! The site is online and should receive the IPN.
But we are having problems with the PayPal account at the moment. Maybe this is causing the problem. I will check again as soon as these problems are solved.
