CRITICAL PROBLEM!!! Registration Unavailable was created by Stephan Botha
Hi

I have a critical problem and I need immediate help. I have an event set up on a page and even though the cut off date is still 2 weeks from today, when people visit the page, a message appears on the page:

This event does not exist or we are no longer accept registration for this event.

I need this problem solved ASAP please. This registration page has been live for 2 weeks and now all of a sudden this problem starts.

This can happen if you by chance have two/multiple events with the same alias; and the previous event with the same alias has recently expired. If you go to "Event Booking > Configuration > SEF router Settings tab" and set "Insert Event ID" to Yes, does that help?

Hi

I only had one event and this happened.

I then cloned this event, and published it. It worked.

Then later today, it happened AGAIN with this "new" event. I just cloned the event again and its fine now, but I dont want this to happen again.

I want to go back to the original event and use that as it already has nearly 300 people registered.

That happened to me when I updated my EB software from an older version and I had template overrides that did not match the new version. Once I removed the old template overrides, it would accept new registrations, and I had to redo my template overrides to mesh with the new versions code.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

What do you mean with template overrides?

There were specific changes my agency wanted to the Registrant list that can be shown on the front end of our website. So in order to make the software do what we wanted without hacking the original code - it is possible to override certain files by creating a copy of it, making the needed changes, and putting it in your template files. See docs.joomla.org/How_to_override_the_outp...rom_the_Joomla!_core for more information.

So when I upgraded from v1.6.6 (yes we were that out of date) to v2.1.1 - our events refused to allow registrations with the same message you got. The old code was vastly different than the new code, so the new EB did not have all it needed to process.

But if you haven't upgraded your EB software in the past 2 weeks, then this is probably not the issue.

Wild guess here - maybe you need to clear your cache? Or try it from a different PC (for us that means going to one outside of our firewall)

If you've just installed Event Booking for the first time, you won't have any template overrides in place.
Fastest way to check for template overrides for a particular add-on is to look in your /templates/YOUR_ACTIVE_TEMPLATE/html/ folder, and look for the component / module / plugin name there (for example, /templates/beez3/html/com_eventbooking . If there is anything in the folder, then there could be overrides working against you. Overrides are copies of select component / module / etc's tmpl files that have been modified & customized.

Did @Brian's recommendation fix the problem? I know that fix has solved this issue for other forum users.
Also, try removing the cut-off date for now and see if that fixes it. It sounds like something more than that, but maybe it'll get you running.

Hi Stephan

I believe there is just something wrong with the event setting/setup. Could you please submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of your site and the link to the event page?

I am going to check and get it sorted right away
