Registration form through plugin was created by Benjamin Donner
Hi, I have asked similar questions before during my tries to find a solution to this, but not exactly this. I need to know if I need to dump this otherwise great system, or if there is a solution / is a solution coming very soon:
I have a text telling about a specific kind of events (an event that takes place each Thursday). So this is a repeating/recurring event, it has a (k2 item) text describing it, and now my website visitors should be able to register for it without hazzle.
Having a long list of dates when the event is arranged ( EACH Thursday) and let Events Booking repeat the name of the event time after another is not a good user experience. The smart way to get users to register is to in the (k2 item) information page show a dropdown list or horisontal time axis of dates when this event is arranged, underneath where the registration form would be shown. All on one, visually well-made page which is easy to use without click after click. This could be handled by an events plugin with {event id=1 recurring=yes form=yes} or similar in the k2 item.
Is something like this possible?
If not, if something like this coming soon?
If not, how is it meant that one should present recurring events in a form that is user-friendly for the client? We cannot have them jump from page to page in order to reach a registration form, and it is horrible to show a long list with row after row of repetition with the same item title and just new dates. Have I missed something?
Regards Benjamin

Hi Benjamin
Unfortunately, this option feature is not available and perhalf won't be very soon as I have other features I want to work on Events Booking first
I am not sure what's the best way to handle it now. However, I think you can try this workaround:
1. Just use K2 item to describe the event
2. Use {ebregister EVENT_ID} to display registration form for that that event
3. Create custom field (list custom field type) to allow users to choose the date they want to attend
I think that's the only workaround for now

A plugin like you said is a nice idea. However, we will need time to implement it. I don't think we could have it available in less than 6 weeks as there are some other important features I want to work on first

Tuan

Great if you create one, my php abilities are far from good enough to change the existing plugin for this.
I will use the existing system somehow while waiting.
Thank you!
Ben

Hello Tuan
I have the very same requirement .
As I will replace an existing booking system and I want to have the new fully working before the go live, I'm interested in the status of the implementation of this functionality.
Can you commit on having it in your next release or are there chances to be postponed or even dropped?
regards,
Cosimo

Hi Ben
That's one of the planned feature for version 2.6.0 (2.5.0 will be released soon after another round of testing)
This feature will be available in about 4 to 6 weeks (or sooner)
