Custom fields was created by Lesley
I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with custom fields.
The event has 6 places for Friday night and 12 places for Saturday night. I set up a custom field with values
Friday
Saturday
so people can pick one or both nights. I've added the appropriate prices and quantity field with the capacity for each night, and 'multiple' selected. The event capacity is set to 0 so the only capacity is in the custom field.
If I use checkboxes it doesn't seem to recognise the event capacity.
If I use list I can't choose both nights.
If I use radio I can't choose both nights.
What am I missing?
Thanks a lot
Lesley

Hi Lesley
For your need, you should use checkboxes. Could you please give me more information about the errors so that I can understand the issue and check it further ?
Regards,
Tuan

Hi Tuan
I'll try and make more sense - I find it hard to know the right way to explain things to you guys that understand how it all works, but here goes.
If I use checkboxes it doesn't seem to recognise the event capacity - it will just keep allowing me to book places despite the fact I think I've set the capacity for Friday night to a max of 6 places. I have Friday/Saturday 6/12 on individual lines.
If I use list I can't choose both nights - although I have selected 'multiple' it only allows me to choose one from the list. Before when I set up adult/child or member/non-member options I used list and it worked fine, but they were only single either/or options.
If I use radio I can't choose both nights - same as above with 'list'.
People need to be able to choose one or both nights and pay the correct amount.
Hope this makes more sense - thanks

With a 'multiple' list, your need to hold the Ctrl-key (probably the Command-key on Mac) as you click your additional selections. Not sure how this would work with mobile users however. Radio buttons only ever allow one selection per group, so the only way you could do it with radio would be to create a Friday field with two radio buttons (yes,no) and set your quantity limits to (6,0), and a similar Saturday field with (yes,no) and qty (12,0).
If checkboxes are not working with preset quantity limits, then you've definitely found a nasty little bug :pinch:
