Setting max quantities in cusom fields

I am running a boat course that will cater for both Drivers and Crewman. However, while there can be a maximum of 25 participants, there is also a maximum of 10 drivers and 15 crewman. Is there a way to configure this so that people select whether they want to be a Driver OR a crewman and the registration process only allows max 10 drivers to register and max 15 crewman to register.
