Community Builder integration problems on registra was created by Zelena
Hi there
I am having some trouble with the CB integration. My site is set up as per Community Builder requirements:
(i) user registration turned OFF in the general Joomla settings,
(ii) user registration turned ON in CB settings.
This is standard set-up for CB, and is required for the site to function properly (ie - users register and login via CB).
I also have my site set up so that users must confirm their registrations by clicking on an email.
I have CB plugin enabled for Event Booking, and was hoping that a user could register for an event and also create a user account at the same time. The event registration does create an account, and copy over the data - but:
(i) an email requesting account confirmation comes from Joomla, not CB, and
(ii) the confirmation link throws a 403 error.
If Joomla registration is turned on, the confirmation link works, but the rest of the CB set-up breaks.
I am not a developer - so I may be missing something here - but I suspect for EB to function properly with CB, a user needs to be created via the CB API. (See www.joomlapolis.com/support/tutorials/12...-user-through-cb-api This is updated here - though who knows if there have been other updates: www.joomlapolis.com/forum/153-profession...b-version-205#258806 )
Could you let me know your thoughts when you have a moment? Really impressed with this component in general - but if I cannot get CB integration working properly, I won't be able to use this
Thanks so much.

Hi Zelena
1=> You will need to set "user registration turned ON" instead OFF. Otherwise, you will receive 403 error when activating Joomla user account
2=> Events Booking only uses Joomla API for sending email, so the confirmation email send to user to inform them about the account is from Joomla, not from CB
So in this case, I think you will need to change "user registration turned ON", and accept that the confirmation email send to Joomla in this case

Yes, I realized that, which is why I opened the ticket. But the problem is this breaks the entire functionality of CB - which requires Joomla registration to be turned off. So the integration of EB and CB is really fictional.

I don't know why it can break CB. I think CB can still work without Joomla user registration turned off. If I remember correctly, CB has a system plugin which will prevent users from registering directly via Joomla, and it should work well
Could you please explain more details about what's break ?
