User registration failing. Permissions??

Hi - I thought all was well after enabling the registration plug-ins but all the registration menu item will yield is "This event does not exist or we are no longer accept registration for this event." I have yet to see the actual registration form for users. I tried adding code into an article and it yields the same. I have deleted and recreated all categories, events and menu items but still no love.

I've read through the documentation and followed everything step by step but did I miss something obvious?
Could this possibly be a folder permissions issue?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Did you check the following for the actual Event?

1. Registration Start Date
2. Cut off date

These are located under "Components > Event Booking > Events > (Your event name).

The message you are receiving is consistent with these date values being incorrectly set.
