Event covering entire screen was created by Bertel Arnfinnsson
Hello
Is it possible to have an event covering the entire screen ? I.e.If I have a link to an event I want the event to open up so that it takes up the entire screen rather than appearing inside a frame in the Joomla web.
best regards, Bertel

Hi Bertel
Unfortunately, it is not possible. That's the way Joomla works, when a content of a component displayed, it will always be displayed inside "component area" (which is defined by your site template)
There is a workaround, however, need a very good/smart setup:
1. For each event, create a hidden menu item to link to it.
2. Config all other modules which is using on your site at the moment so that it won't be displayed in these menu items.....
3. Maybe your template code will have to modified......
The idea is that on event details page, no modules will be loaded and the event will be loaded in full page. But it is quite hard, I am afraid of

Many thanks for the quick reply.
I will try this. Perhaps another workaround is to change the Joomla template to have one component area taking up the entire screen, I don´t need the Joomla site for anything other than this component.
best regards, Bertel

Try just adding tmpl=component to your url to suppress the template.
- if using SEO urls: www.yoursite.com/foo/bar ?tmpl=component
- if not using SEO urls: www.yoursite.com?option=com_eventbooking&otheroptions=555&moreoptions=abc&tmpl=component
