Issue invoice for free event

Instead of making invoice for free events which doesn't make sense, I decided that we will improve the extension to allow generating tickets PDF. However, it will take time to implement, might be 4-5 weeks from today

So please be patient and wait for us

This will be a great addition! (and it will come in handy in about 2 months for me!)
Please consider when you do add this feature:
1. Manually re-sending a ticket to a registrant
2. Sending (or re-sending) a ticket X days before the event (maybe a config option to send ticket on payment, send X days before event, or both?)
3. A way for a logged in user to retrieve their ticket.

Just wanted to chime in and add my vote of support for this feature. I am going to buy EB today, now that this is coming.

We run free events for students, but ask people to register and check in at the door so that we have a record of who registered and who attended.

Also, when you implement this, it would be great to be able to generate a ticket (including possibility of QR code) for each registrant within a group registration.

Am I correct in thinking that this is currently being addressed by the config setting "Always generate invoice" = "yes"? And that editing the core file is no longer necessary?

Yes. Just set that config option to Yes. No need for core hack anymore
