Hi Tuan, is it possible to assign some custom fields to categories and others to only events? I would like all events in the category "Travel" to have an age field while only some of them would have a Gender field...

Furthermore, just a thought... in the custom field backend, you can assign them to single events (which I have used until now) and it shows now a huge list of events. Past events could be hidden in backend?

Me too! I would like to have this control on a field-by-field basis as I have many fields that work both ways -- some that apply to whole categories, and some that are specific to the event.

I, as well would like to see the ability to assign a custom field to a specific category instead of "All Events" or singular.

we have loads of events that come and go each week and it would be hard to assign them all every time we created an event.

SOLVED My problem:
Needed to set the correct setting in config. Here's what they sent me!
Yes, it is possible. Please go to Events Booking -> Configuration -> General tab, at "Assign Custom Fields to category instead of to events" choose Yes, then when you create/edit a custom field, you should be able to choose categories instead of events.

There's a global toggle for assigning Custom Fields to either Category OR Event, but (unless I'm mistaken) it's global. Still waiting for word on whether we will be able to do both-and rather than either-or.
Any further thoughts on this, Tuan?

Hi James

It is useful to allow selection both. We have been discussing about it internal here and decide that we will implement yet. However, it won't be available in the extension very soon.

I guess you will have to wait for about 2 months to see it ready in the extension

Regards,

Tuan
