Annoying thing in the cut-off date. was created by Tim Stöhr
Hey Tuan,
I am setting the cut-off date on my events. It is always midnight on a special day. If I set the date though (eg 23rd September) at 00,00 (so what one would normally consider as midnight), the portal closes at midnight of the previous day. If I try to go into the website, on 23rd at say 9.00 am, then the portal will already be closed as it closed 9 hours beforehand...
I need to manually set it to close at 11.55 pm so that it closes on the 23rd at 11.55pm and if I want it to close at midnight, I have to set it on 24th 00.00, which in turn confuses the users...
Would be great if we could change this...

Hi Tim
Sorry but I still don't really understand this issue. Could you please explain exactly what you want to change? What's wrong now?

An example:
_I have an event with a cut-off date of 23rd September.
_I set the cut-off date as 23rd September.
_When users try to book on 23rd September, the event is already closed.
_Why? Cut-off date sets the day to 23rd September at 00.01... so 1 minute past midnight on the night of the 22nd to 23rd.
_For cut-off on 23rd near midnight, I need to set the time as 23.55 so that it shuts it at the right time. If you forget to set it at 23.55, then the whole event shuts down a day early...
Could you fix this?

I don't think I can fix it. Infact, that's an improvement to the extension. It allows you not only set the cut off date but also cut off time. That cut off time is requested by customers and I implemented it. So there is no reasons for me to remove it
So when you use cut off date, please remember to enter the time as well
Tuan

Hi Tuan,
I didnt mean to remove it as it is a good feature. I just meant that when you enter the date, it should put itself to 23.59 instead of 00.01 as it makes more sense (then it closes at the end of the date you put in instead of at the beginning of the date you put in... in the front-end, it will show the proper date of closing, not one day before it closes)
.

Ah
Maybe you are talking about frontend event submission form where you can only enter cut off date ? Not cut off time ? If so, the correct solution would be allow entering both of it.
Will look at it and make it available in the next two days (right now, working hard to finish new version of the extension)
Regards,
Tuan
