Auto-fill billing fields

I have two sets of custom fields. I have first name and last name, then billing first name and billing last name. This is the case because some of the events are driver's ed classes, so the first and last name will be the child's, but billing is most likely the parent's. We have a lot of other events where first and last name will be the billing first and last name too though. I would like to have a checkbox that, when selected, will auto-fill the billing name and address based on the previous name and address fields. Can this be done? I was thinking I could just put the other custom field name in the default field, but that just printed out the exact text I put in for the default field. We are still on version 1.6.10, so if it is in a later version please let me know which one. Thanks!

It is not possible to do that by default, both from your version or from the latest version. With your requirement, you will need to find someone to write javascript code to add this feature for you. It could not be handled by default in the extension !

Well that stinks... Just to clarify, there isn't a way to fill in the Default field of a custom field with the content of another field? If we can skip the checkbox and just get field B to use the contents of field A once the user fills in this field, that would work for our needs, if it's possible.

Yes. You are correct. It is not possible. As I mentioned before, the only way to get it works is writing some javascript code to copy the value of the fields to other fields with a checkbox is checked/unchecked
