Change display order of events was created by Jonathan Richards
I am trying to reorder the list of events in a category when viewed from the frontend. I am able to order in the Events Booking > Events view, but this had no effect on the frontend user display order. Is there a way to specify the order for frontend viewing within a Category?

Hi Jonathan
Please go to Events Booking -> Configuration, look at Themes tab, find the config option "Order Events By". Set it to ordering and it will be displayed in the ordering you set in Events Booking -> Events
(By default, it is ordered by Event Date)

Tuan,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Unfortunately, following those instructions does not appear to have any effect on changing the order.
Any other ideas?

It's a shame, the answer to this wasn't posted on the forum, so those looking for it via Google Search / Forum search can fix their own problem and save you time, dealing with support tickets
I also find the sorting of events doesn't work, if configuration / theme / order by is set to date or custom. It seems to have no difference after adjusting the dates or the sorting of the events.
*My issue is upcoming events com_eventbooking » Up-coming Events Timeline layout
Example: britishbusinessalliance.co.uk/events/upcoming-events

Hello
For upcoming events, the events will always be ordered by event date in ASC order (that's why it is called upcoming events)
If you want to use custom ordering, you need to use category timeline layout menu option for example, and then go to Events Booking -> Configuration, look at Themes tab, change order setting to have the order you want
