*SOLVED* Best way to migrate from J25 to J3 was created by Stephan Hodges
I have to do a full migration for my site upgrade from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3.3/3.4 because of several complications in the site.
What is the best way to migrate the Event Booking data, settings, etc?
Old site is at current version.
Should I install Event Booking on the new (blank) site before trying to migrate data, or try and migrate data tables first, and then install, etc?
Thanks in advance.

You should always Import the Events Booking database tables first, then install latest version to the new site

I migrated to a new system on my localhost (development environment) with all the tables moved over. Then installed 1.6.10
Joomla 3.3.6.
Looking at the database, the tables are present and seem to have all the same records as before.
However, nothing shows up in the Admin pages. The categories are all missing, there are no events, no registrations. Nothing.
Is there some index or table that needs to be set so that all of the existing records can be shown?
Again, it's not even showing categories. I have a lot of event records for future dates, but even selecting "Show Past" doesn't show anything.

I solved the problem.
Briefly, there are two ways to migrate to Joomla 3 from Joomla 2.5
The common way is to do an in-place upgrade of the site. In this case, all the tables from J25 are present and get upgraded to J3 versions.
The second way (which I needed to do for a complicated site) was to rebuild it. This means moving the tables from J25 and then installing a new version of Event Booking.
The problem was that I had installed a blank Event Booking, which created the tables ahead of time. Then, when moving the J25 tables, the table structures didn't match. I didn't realize that the table structures would be different on J 3 from J25, since the component version is identical (1.6.10) on both systems.
Fix: Uninstall Event Booking from new site (J3). DELETE ALL TABLES (In SQL terms, "Drop the tables").
Copy over the J25 tables. These are in the J25 format, not the J3 format, even though same version of Event Booking.
Install Event Booking in the J3 site. This will do a conversion, apparently.
The above is only for a complete rebuilding of a site. Shouldn't be needed for an in-place upgrade.

@Tuan, maybe include the above fix of Stephan Hodges in the documentation?
