Hi Fred
Paypal Pro allow customers to enter credit card information directly on your site to process payment while Paypal Standard redirect customers to Paypal to process payment. However, please note:
1. Paypal Pro is only available in US, UK and Canada. So you can only use it if you are from one of the three listed countries.
2. Paypal charges you monthly fee in order to use Paypal Pro. If I remember correctly, it is 30$ / month but I am not sure
Hope it is clear to you
