Questions about updating... from a novice was created by Nick Chapman
Please excuse the question of a novice...
Tuan, you have helped me wonderfully to amend some coding to improve how my site works. When I update to 1.6.7 will these changes be lost? Will I have to make them again to the new version?
Nick.

Hi Nick
To be honest, I don't remember what changes I made for you (sorry, have to support many customers everyday).
However, if we made changes to coding, yes, if you upgrade, the changes will be lost and you will have to redo it.

No worries Tuan - I have a record of the changes I have made so can easily action them again.
How does it work if you do some custom coding (as per our conversation in another thread). Will those changes be carried over as well?
Nick.

Hi Nick
Could you remind me the changes I made for you so that I can see whether these changes are in latest version or not ?

Details of the changes I have made are here:
joomdonation.com/forum/events-booking-ge...-of-event.html#52010
and here:
joomdonation.com/forum/events-booking-ge...sts-in-the-back.html
If I engaged you to do some custom work, how would that be carried over in subsequent updates? I have a few things I might get you to do but want to be sure they won't have to be re-done after the next and subsequent updates are released.
Nick.

Hi Nick
If you upgrade, you will need to redo the changes (it is easy, I believe) since these changes have not been added to the core download package yet
If you have custom works which customize the code of the extension, you will have to redo the custom works when you upgrade to future releases as the code of custom works are not maintained in the core download package of the extension
