thumbnail ignores transparency

Events I created a few months ago with an early version of the software added thumbnail images correctly. I'm using .png files and the parts of the image I set to be transparent simply show the background of the event.

When I create a new event and select an image, it shows black where it should be transparent. This is true even if I select the .png for the image used in the previously created event.

I installed the latest build from a few weeks ago. Did something change and broke transparency for new thumb images?

Maybe so as right now, we use Joomla core JImage class to generate thumbnail and to be honest, it doesn't work well with transparent image.

I guess I will have to seek and use a different library. Could you please attach a sample of the image you are using so that I can try ?

Hi Tuan!

This is one of the images. It was used in the first event we created in July 2014. That event uses transparency properly. If I add this image to a new event with the current build, all the transparent areas are black.

Any chance there's a fix by the end of the week? If not, I'm going to have to fill the transparency in for many images as our events go live Friday then more early next week. This used to work. Is it possible to dif the changes between 1.6.5 and the latest version to see what might've changed to cause transparencies to no longer work?

Yes. We are going to have it fixed on tomorrow or the days after tomorrow.

Sorry for lately on this. I am working on other improvements to the extension these days as well. Will take this one highest priority and hopefully have it completed on tomorrow !

Hi Tuan.

Any progress on this? We launched our first batch of events tonight. I had to fill in the transparency for the events we had to make it look nice. I'm hoping to to have to do this in a few days when the next batch of events get posted.
