Location of Thumb Image creating a new Event

When creating a new Event I would like to add an icon (as Thumb Image). When I click on the add buttom it is opening an local explorer thus I can upload it from my local computer storage.
But this approach does not help very much in case more people are creating events!

Is there a way to load the Thumb Image from a Joomla Server place like ./media or ./images?!
Thus I could place the icons there for re-use.

Unfortunately, it is not possible. The extension allows you to upload files so that you can choose files from anywhere in your computer for your events. I believe it is more flexible and easier for most of users than choosing from an existing folder on server.

If you really need to choose the thumb images from server, you will need to customize the code. Maybe you can consider hiring one of our dev to customize it for you. We will just charge 20$ for this customization.

However, please note that it is not a standard feature in the extension. So if you customize it, you won't be able to update to future releases of Events Booking.

So please think about it carefully before making decision

thanks for answer. We would not mind ro spend the money but as you said we are not keen to handle the update issue.

SInce wer are implementing a portal which is offering different kind of mountaineering events / courses, e.g. climbing , hiking, mountainbiking etc., we like to highlight each of this different acivities with a pictogram.
The event are generated by different groups/people and sites therefore it would be a really good help if the pictograms would stay on the server (instead local).

So by any chance could you think about this issue as feature in one of the next releases?! Which means to add a buttom-function in the "Event creating" window (in addition to select Thumg Nail locally) that an image (e.g. pictogram) can be picked from joomla server aerea (./media/com_eventbooking/images/thumbs/pictogram1.jpg.)

Sorry Gerd but I think we won't be able to add it to the core download package. None of our existing customers have asked for this feature so far.

So if we customize it, you will have to maintain it yourself when you upgrade to future release of the extension.

it seems to be at least another customer interested.

According to my understanding an uploaded image is put to the folder "./media/com_eventbooking/images/thumbs/image.jpg".
Thus one would need only access this folder without uploading when a event is created.

Additional Question:
Beside what happens if some uploads an image for a specific event which has the same image filename uploaded for previous generated events but has a different content? I would assume that the thunb image would be overwritten for the previous events too!?

=> When someone upload an image, if the filename existed, the system will save the new image with a different name, so it won't overwrite the image of previous events.
