Booking not approving after PayPal payment

Hi Tuan,

I have Event Booking latest version running on website, with the following problem.

After completing registration, the user is taken to PayPal and pays the event fee, the money goes into PayPal fine, the order is created on the website database, but when payment is successful it does not approve the order in website (I can see published value in database set to 0 for these bookings).
Also, after payment processed what is the return URL that paypal sends the user back to the website on? I have a 404 when 'Returning to website'.

I have SSL installed and working on website fine.

Any ideas?

Hi Michael

That's strange. I have no idea about it (especial the 404 error).

For the reason the order doesn't approve, there might be few reason causing it :

1. Maybe your site is on a local computer and Paypal could not reach your site to notify the payment ?

2. Your site is set to Offline ?

3. Maybe your site has a security plugin installed which block IPN message from Paypal ? It can be admin tools or RS Firewall plugin. Your site has any plugins like that ?

4. Maybe your server has Firewall software which blocks the Paypal IPN messages ?

5. Maybe Paypal IPN is disabled on your Paypal account ?

So the first thing you should do is that login to your Paypal account (which is the account receive payment), access to History -> IPN History to see whether there are any IPN message? If there are, what are teh status of the messages ?

Hi Tuan,

The problem was IPN settings not correct in PayPal.
All resolved now.

For anyone who have this problem, here is help on how to find IPN settings in PayPal account.
