I have a few categories setup for my events.

One is called Operations, another is called Battles.

I have setup a menu link for each category to display a list.

The Operations Category displays fine but when a logged in user goes to the Battle Category it dumps to the home page with the error:
You are not allowed to perform this task

I have tried to set this up several ways, coping the original Operations menu link and renaming it and changing the category, I have made the link fresh same error is shown each time but only for registered users/admin. Anyone not logged in on the site can view the page fine.

I would have made a support ticket but didnt see Events Booking under the category selection.

The website is blacksheepmilsim.com

You can use my test user account to see the error:

Name: *****
Password ******

Please let me know if you need an admin log in, I dont want to post that on a forum.

Thank you for your help and I hope this is a simple user error on my part, but not sure what else to try the error makes no sense to me.

I found my own error, it was an issue in my permissions in the category options page.

We had the same issue, the event was copied from another one. I got past this by enabling 'Insert Event ID' to Yes in Configuration/SEF Router Settings. The error message was misleading.

Ah, the reason is because when the event is copied, it has the same alias with the original one and it cause the issue. Instead of setting Insert Event ID to Yes, there is another option is that you edit the event, change alias so that it is different with the original event and it will work well, too

I also ran into this problem, but not with a copied event. I made a test-event and deleted it as it was not needed. Later I made a completely new event with the same name and alias, and it also caused this problem! It seems that the old alias is still somewhere in the database, even though the event is deleted! Changing the alias of the new event helped.

This is not good, as we yearly have events with the same name. We will have problems next year when we start to publish those events! Where are the aliases in tha database, and how can I remove the ones that belong to deleted events?

Hi

With this case, we will need to reset the data in #__eb_urls table. You can login to backend of your site, then access to the following urls:

domain.com/administrator/index.php?optio...king&task=reset_urls

Of course, need to replace domain.com with your site domain

Then data in that table will be reset and it will solve that issue
