New User Registration and CB Integration was created by abarrow
I seem to have identified a problem with Community Builder integration and new user registration.
I have my site set up to use Community Builder login. As per the instructions for CB installation, I set the Joomla User Login to NO and the Community Builder registration to "Yes, independent...".
If a user goes to the website frontend and registers on the website as a new user, they receive a confirmation email with a weblink that verifies their registration on the website. All works fine, and is using Community Builder to send the email. Upon confirmation they are redirected to the Community Builder profile.
If I have a new user that registers for an event, the registration system appears to pass through the Joomla user registration instead of the Community builder registration ("com_user" is in the address they are given). The email they receive is different from the website registration, and more importantly, if they click on the confirmation link in the email, they receive a 403 Forbidden message on the web site and their registration is not confirmed.
The only work-around I have discovered is to set Joomla User Registration to YES. While this does get the user registered into the site and eliminates the 403 error, it also displays the Joomla user login screen instead of the Community Builder profile for the user. I don't want this, as I need the users to complete their Community Builder profile if possible.

Hi Abarrow
Unfortunately, in this case, you will have to allow users registration in Joomla for it to work. I will check to see whether we can find a way to handle registration redirect using CB to solve the issue . But to be honest, it will take few weeks because right now, I am busy working on some other improvements to the extension.
Regards,
Tuan

That's a shame - I did point out this issue a while back. A new version of CB is out before long (I can let you have a copy of the final beta, they are a bit behind schedule but release should be sometime over next few months) so it would be good if this could be taken as a chance to fully integrate with CB. Thanks!
