Confirmation email not sent was created by mairead
Hi,

The confirmation emails are no longer sent for events. I've just created a new event and it's not working. So i tried on an old event and it doesn't work there either (but did when the event was booking)

Any ideas?

Hi

It might happens because your mail server doesn't work at this time. Could you please go to Users-> Users Manager, create new user to see whether that user receive email or not ? If he doesn't receive email, then the problem come from your mail server and you will need to contact your hosting provider, ask them to check it for you !

Thanks Tuan,

I had checked that AcyMailing mail was working but never thought of the site emails!

There is a problem, when I change from 'PHP mail' to 'Send mail' my site's email works, but event emails still not working.

Do I have to use PHP mail function for event booking?

Hi

If the email on your site works, it will work with Events Booking as well because Events Booking use the mail API of your site for sending emails. So in this case, please give me more information :

1. What payment method you are using on Events Booking on your site ?

2. When someone completed the registration, do you see the registration record from back-end ? If yes, what's the status of the record (Pending or Paid).

3. Does the registrant receive email ? Does the admin receive any email ?

4. In the Configuration of Events Booking, please make sure you entered a valid email into the From Email config option. Maybe you can try to go to Events Booking -> Configuration, empty the From Name and From Email config option so that the system will use From Name and From Email settings from your site for sending emails.

I'm using paypal, the money is being processed there.

Yes, I'm seeing registrations, they are set to pending

3. Does the registrant receive email ? Does the admin receive any email ?
No email sent at all, even if I change the status to paid manually

4. In the Configuration of Events Booking, please make sure you entered a valid email into the From Email config option. I'm using a valid email, tried leaving it blank but that didn't help.

Hi Tuan,

Any other ideas? I'm under pressure to open booking on this event and it's email confirmation is still not working. I've tried everything I can think of, it's doing my head in.

Hi

Pending registration records mean the Paypal IPN notification doesn't work. Maybe it is disabled in your Paypal account? Could you please login to your Paypal account, access to History -> IPN History to see whether there are any IPN messages? If yes, what are the status of the messages ?

Hi Tuan,

I checked in paypal IPN records are there and status is sent. the HTTP code = 200 (ie successful).

Shouldn't an email be sent when I manually change the status of a registration from pending to paid? If so it seems to be an email issue?

Site email is working when set to send mail but not php mail function.

Hi Mairead

If Paypal works well, when you make payment for the registration at Paypal the status of the registration record need to change to Paid (Published) automatically.

You said it is still pending ? So it is something with Paypal IPN in this case. Those messages which you see from what date ? Could you please try to make a new registration , make payment to see how it works ?

Tuan,

They are recent transactions, but I just tried a new one. It worked fine, but its still pending and no email :(

Paypal IPN satus is: sent
notification url is: myURL//index.php?option=com_eventbooking&task=payment_confirm&payment_method=os_paypal

Everything looks ok on paypal.

When I click an return to site in paypal I get returned to the expected place on my site, there I get a transaction ID - what does this refer to?
