a 'spit' is a rod upon which savory food was roasted, turned in ancient times by a worker called a 'jack', a middle English word for an ordinary laborer (eg jack of all trades, steeplejack, lumberjack). Today, this is done by a 19th C machine.

I forgot to enable the coupon feature on one event - and I have four registrants that should have a coupon discount applied. Is there a way I can edit their registrations?

Hi
Unfortunately, in the current version of the extension, there is not an option to edit these information. I will try my best to allow editing the amount, discount... in version 1.6.3 of the extension.
