How to make multiple calendars for different cats

I need to have more than one calendar for different categories on the same page and on different pages simultaneously. I don't see how to do this in the instructions?

For instance i need a calendar for SCUBA classes only and one for Dive Charters only and for other types of charters. putting them all on one calendar is a messy deal and it seems to be creating too many instances of events based on time and number of days and how many events.

Thanks,

Carlos - beachgeek

Hi Carlos

I believe you can use Category Calendar Layout in Events Booking. Basically, you can create different menu items, each menu item will link to a page which display all events from a category in a calendar.

To do that, simply create menu item link to Category Calendar Layout of Event Booking. In the menu parameter, choose the category you want to display events. After that, check it and it should work as expected.

Tuan, The other problem I have is that I cannot seem to mix content with a calendar in a regular article. It looks like I will have to make a separate menu item for each calendar and you cannot put one on a content page or in an article. It seems there should be an option in articles or in events booking to make the menu item or article an "article with EB calendar" or "calendar with article".

And on a further note, I can make calendars show up on separate pages on the menu but they pick up all of the events no matter what category the events are set for and no matter what the page menu is set for. So it is futile to add more calendars because they contain all events created regardless of category. And another issue is that on repeat events that go for more than one day per event per occurrence it multiplies for each day the number of that event each day. So you start with one event on the first day then 2 on the second and 3 on the third and so on and keeps multiplying on the recurring events. Makes for a very crowded and confusing calendar. I am seriously reconsidering the use of this extension as it has more issues than I have time to deal with and due to the lack of functionality is not going to serve our needs if it cannot be fixed.

=> Hi Carlos

Unfortunately, the extension doesn't have a feature allows you to insert a calendar into an article. To display a calendar, you will need to make a menu item to the calendar view of the extension.

I am not sure there are any extensions support the future you want.

=> I believe this issue is something wrong with the settings. If it is possible, please submit a support ticket sending me administrator account of your site and I will check it for your right away.

=> I don't really understand this issue. However, I know this limitation in the extension and will try to improve it in the future. But it won't probadly be improved very soon. Right now, I have more features which I need to work on first.

I am seriously reconsidering the use of this extension as it has more issues than I have time to deal with and due to the lack of functionality

=> I am sorry to hear that. Yes, sometime an extension cannot be used for what you need and I understand. If you decide to not use the extension, I am OK and I think I will refund the money of your purchase. However, before deciding use other extensions, please look at it carefully first. As far as I can see, Events Booking is one of the best extension in it's category. So maybe you should ask the developer of the extension about all the features you want before making the purchase (most of the other extensions are more expensive than EB and I am not sure the provider will refund the money of your purchase).
