How to keep track of latest version and releases?

The subject says it all; and Joomla claims "All extensions are up-to-date", still it seems a new version came out just a few days reading this thread .

How can I even know what version I have? In Event Management it says version 1.5.3 but pkg_eventbooking.xml says 1.5.0...

At the moment, we don't have a way to let user know whether they are having latest version or not. We are working on an improvement which allow you to check to see whether you are having latest version of the extension or not. But this will take us sometime to implement this feature .
