Hi Tuan,
Multiple tax rates are a must if you plan on selling this software to Canadians.
I'm struggling with your one tax system.
Example:
I'm using Events Booking as a registration means for an Arts Centre in British Columbia, Canada. Some classes have a Fee for the Class and that's all. Some Classes have a fee for the Class plus a materials Fee. Some Classes are for Children. All of these items are taxed differently. Here's the tax breakdown I need to be able to use for these Classes:
Adult Class Fees: GST
Youth Class Fees: None
Adult Materials Fees: GST + PST
Youth Materials Fees: GST + PST
GST = 5%
PST = 7%
As well, there are discounts for Arts Centre Members (not Joomla members, there are no Joomla registrations accepted on the site).
I've used the Custom Fields to create discounts for Arts Centre Members, and that works well, but there is no hope of my applying the correct tax rates to each specific class (including Materials cost and taxes). They all have different requirements.
I would assume these same guidelines would apply to anyone having an event in British Columbia (and other provinces in Canada) that is interested in using your software. If they have an event where the Fee for the event is $100, but they also want you to be able to purchase a t-shirt for the event which is $20, they won't be able to use your current tax structure to apply the applicable taxes for each item:
Event Fee would be GST applicable
T-Shirt sale would be PST & GST applicable
The easiest method for the end user would be to have the ability to apply different tax rates to each specific Class (Event). That said, there also needs to be the ability to add an item to the event (such as a t-shirt) and then have an applicable tax rate for that item alone. I understand that this would probably be difficult to incorporate into your software, but I think it is worthwhile.
I've tried and used a lot of different Event & Registration software and from a Canadian perspective, the software all tends to 'fall down' when it comes to applying different tax rates to different aspects of the registration, or of materials provided.
I hope you seriously look at incorporating more than one tax rate into Events Booking.
Regards,
Brian

Hello Tuan, and I am sorry to post...but I agree also as even in the United States, when someone with website that is located on a Bordering State, let us say New York 9% tax and New Jersey 8% tax..the "venue" could possibly held (and tax required) differently.
Possible solution
a) To add Override to Events or field pulls up and SHOWS Global tax rate, and let user modify there?
b) In Locations? Maybe easiest to use? I am not sure...either way, you'd need or have to add to table-DB

Hi Jim
I am really but at the moment, I am working on new version but haven't had a plan to integrating this tax feature into this new version yet
We will have to leave it to future releases as right now, I have more priority feature which I need to work on first. For now, if you really need it, I am afraid of you will have to find a developer to help you !
