Component isn't completely uninstalling was created by alsage13
I need to uninstall Event Booking from one of my client's websites, but for whatever reason, it doesn't seem to be uninstalling completely. I did the proper uninstall through the "manage extensions" screen (indeed, I uninstalled all EB components, modules, and plugins) but somewhere lurking about in this there is something that thinks EB is still installed.

Example. When I visit an old EB event link like www.worleylawllc.com/component/com_event...,15/task,view_event/ it SHOULD forward on to a new URL, thanks to a redirect I setup in sh404sef. Instead goes to my host (GoDaddy)'s 404 page instead of my site's 404 page, which means it still thinks the component exists.

Besides properly uninstalling the extension I've:
1. checked in the components, modules, and plugins folders, and no EB folders remain
2. went in to the DB and deleted all the EB tables
3. went into the j25_extension table and made sure there were no mentions of EB

What am I missing!? Thanks for any help!

Hi

You don't miss anything, that's just how Joomla is designed to work. It doesn't depend on events booking or any component. When you want to access to a component which doesn't exist, Joomla will throw a 404 - Component not found error. This works the same for all components, not only Events Booking. Again, that's how Joomla works and nothing related to Events Booking.

Regards,

Tuan

But why is it going to my host's 404 page, and not Joomla's 404 page?

Theoretically, I should be able to forward that URL to a new URL, right?

Hi

1. Please look at the attached image. That's what I see what I try to access to the page. It is a default Joomla 404 page.

2. I am not sure whether you can forward it. Maybe there will be a plugin for Joomla (you can search for one in the JED) or even using htaccess to perform redirect.

Please understand that when you uninstall a component (not only Events Booking but also for all other components), there will be nothing related to that component anymore . When you access to a component which is not exists, a 404 error page will be thrown. And all of these process are handled by Joomla, not by the component anymore
