Announcements was created by Kartik Ganesan
Hi
We plan to use Event Booking in our site.
We also need to have announcements in our site. The announcements will have an ability to not show up if it is past expiration date.
We were thinking of using Events Booking for Announcements as well. I believe we should be able to achieve this by creating 2 root categories, one for Event and One for Announcements.
Please let me know your thoughts if this sounds reasonable or should we shop for another extension specifically for Announcements.
Thanks
Kartik

Hi Kartik
You will need to explain how the Announcements works so that I can tell you whether it is possible to do that using Events Booking. Or you can give me a sample page which show Announcements so that I can look at it and understand how it works .

Hi Tuan,
Unfortunately we do not have a sample page or requirements set in stone. I will try to explain the functionality in non joomla terms
1) Admin should be able to create an announcement
2) Admin should be able to assign an expiry date for each announcement
3) Announcement might have categories
4) Announcement will be displayed only if it has not expired (as set in step 2 above)
5) Display it as List & not as calendar in a page and in sidebar
Thanks

Hi Kartik
Then you will have to find a different extension for Announcements because Events Booking doesn't support this feature .
