Control over event reminder email alert

The site I'm working on provides up to 20 one hour sessions per week and users will book between 10 and 40 sessions in one hit.

Rather than remind them of their registration just before every session - as this would probably annoy them - I would like to be able to remind them just after their second to last session. for example, if they registered 10 sessions, the system would send them the email just after the ninth session occurs.

I could connect to the database from another application to achieve this but it would make much more sense to customise EB. But I need assistance!

If you know Joomla programming, you can customize sendReminder function in the file components/com_eventbooking/models/reminder.php to make it works in the way you want.
