recurring days for same event ? was created by mike
Hi,

How do we add an event spread over different days ?
example :
We have 1 event users can register to... but the event is for instance every thursday for the next 4 weeks .
and as such the users registers for all 4 days. (like for instance a workshop which is held every thursday of the next month)

So I'm not looking to add 1 event which is repeated over several weeks..., for this I would use the recurring settings.

=> I want to have the possibility to see all the days of this event in the menu, or short discription of the event calendar.

How can I do this ..? or would this be a new feature ??

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike

In this case, you will need to create weekly recurring events (see joomdonation.com/using-extensions/using-...#eb_recurring_events to understand how to create recurring events). However, in this case, each instance (in different week) will be an independent event.

So if users want to book for the whole series, he will have to make a different bookings .

Hope my explanation is clear to you .

Regards,

Tuan

This is what I understood from your current configuration.
But we create workshops which are spread over several days. and if you sign up for 1 workshop you should not register separately for each
day. it should be done by the system.
In my case the user should not see the child events but only the main event, and the child events are just in the background and are filled
in automatically so the agenda is automatically filled up for those days.

for instance on my site you have :
www.boho.be/index.php?option=com_eventbo...event_id=4&Itemid=40
This is a workshop for 5 Wednesday afternoons starting 9/1/2013 and ends 6/2/2013
but in fact I want to have the 5 Wednesdays in the menu and not the whole period... also for the agenda this is a mess.
The users register here for those 5 days in one go ... I do not want 5 individual registration steps.

Hope you understand.. ?

Hi Mike

I understand what you want. However it cannot be handled automatically by the system. In this case, I think the only solution is that you create only one event and then in the description of the event, you can said this is a workshop for 5 Wednesday afternoons starting 9/1/2013 and ends 6/2/2013. That's the only way for now .

If you would ever find a solution... would be nice to implement.. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one having this issue.

Thanks for the good work.. !

Hi Tuan,

After 3 years I'm still waiting for this solution... I'm still using an older version, which still works fine,
but before I consider upgrading I want to know if with the latest release of eventbooking the issue I explained here
is implemented ?

My client still wants to see these event (which is spread over several weeks) in her calendar.
Currently she has only one entry in the calendar for the first day, but the other days (for instance every wednesday for the next 6 week)
is not visible.

thanks,

Mike.
