Adding Registrant Manually

I have "prevent duplicate registration" enabled and when I add a registrant manually on the back-end, why doesn't it prevent the user from registering on the front-end? It shows up as paid in their Registration History.

Sometimes a user registers for an event by paper or tells me in person so I register for them on the back-end just for their record. On the back-end I click on the "Registrants" link through Event Booking module and then click "New". I fill out their information, set it as "Paid", and click "Save and Close". Once I submit it, it shows up on their Registration History on the front-end, but if they happen to go to the event on the front-end, they are allowed to register for it again, and it doesn't show the "You are already registered for this event" message since I have "Prevent Duplicate Registration" enabled.

I'm just trying to figure out why they are allowed to register again on the front-end even when I manually register them on the back-end.

Right now, the system only used User ID parameter to determine whether the user has registered for the event or not. So if you enter the registration record manually, the id of the registrant won't be stored with the record, and therefore the system doesn't know that he has registered for the event, and he can still register again .

Maybe in the next release, I will use User Email as well to determine whether the current user has registered for the event or not and that should solve the problem .

Awesome that would be great! The sooner I get that parameter addition the better.

In the meantime, is there a way to just add the User ID field to the back-end registrant page and I just type the username in that field so the user can be officially registered.

Please get this file, unzip it, upload to administrator/components/com_eventbooking/views/registrant/tmpl folder. After that, when add new registrant, you will be able to enter User ID (please note user ID, not Username) into that field and the registration record will be associated to the user and he cannot register for that event himself anymore (from front-end).
