Spam suddenly this morning... was created by SMcClelland
Hello Mr Tuan
I wonder if you could help me. We have been very happy with Events Booking for a number of months now. It was reinstalled as the latest version (1.4.3) on our site when we upgraded to Joomla 2.5 last month.
This morning, we have seen spam attacks on the registration page, with around 9 false registrants. They have legitimate email addresses so the system does not disable at the form filling stage but how is it possible for them to ignore Captcha? I checked the registrants database and indeed they are listed there so registration was successful. I tested with myself as a registrant and the system seems to be working fine and it does not let me register if I falsely complete Captcha.
Do you have any ideas to suppress this problem? I have disabled the registration page at article and menu level for the time being.
many thanks and keep up the good work

Hi Steve
I would suggest you to upgrade your site to latest version of Event Booking (version 1.4.4). After that, enable captcha feature and it will prevent spams !
Regards,
Tuan

Hi Tuan,
Same problem for my client, I've enabled the Captcha but it seems only to work for the registrations and not on the waiting list.
Can you provide a solution for this ? as we had more than 40 spam users this morning on the waiting list.
I'm running 1.5.2
Many regards,
Mike.
