Cart and Group Registraition Conflict

So I see that if you want to let people register as a group, you cannot have the shopping cart function on.

If the cart is on, then you can only register as an individual.

I understand that this is not a standard feature, but what would it take to allow one category of events work with the shopping cart on, and one category of events to work with the shopping cart off to allow group reg?

The extension could not handle this situation by default. So if you want to have it, you will have to do some customization into the extension (not really easy).
