Acymailing plugin was created by Bastiaan Houtkooper
Dear Tuan,

I have seen this question here already but unanswered and there is nothing about it in the tutorial:

Could you please explain how the Acymailing newsletter subscription plugin works?

Thanks,

Bastiaan

Hi Bastiaan

It is simple. When someone register for your events, they will be added to subscribers list of ACYMailing so that you can use ACYMailling to send newsletters to registrants if you want.

Tuan

OK that sounds (too) simple...

I have about 5 newsletters on the site, all for different events. Is there a way / hack to subscribe someone to a specific newsletter?

event1 -> newsletter 1
event2 -> newsletter 2

etc.

Hi

In this case, you will have to customize the plugin to have it works as you want. The plugin doesn't have that function by default.

If I have more than 1 list in ACY, how does the plugin know which list to subscribe to? I have 3 lists, and the plugin doesn't do anything. New registrations are not subscribed to any of the lists.

The plugin is enabled.

Any ideas?

Hi Tuan / other programmers

Other event systems have tighter integration with acyMailing. It would be great if you could extend the functionality of the existing plugin.

There are two choices:

1. Extend the plugin so that you can map a specific event to a specific mailing list (useful, but not very scalable)
2. Create an AcyMailing filter

The acyMailing documentation is here: www.acyba.com/en/support/documentation/6...r-documentation.html

Hi Brendon

Right now, I don't have time to work on the improvement for AcyMailing immediately. However, in the future, when I work on it, I will choose the solution #1 . Basically, for each event, we will create a list in ACYMailing and then when someone register for event, we will add them to that list .

Hi Tuan

If you go with my option 1, please allow us to select multiple acyMailing lists to subscribe the user to.
Ideally, the selection tool shows the names of the lists, rather than us having to type in the list IDs.

If it would help you to prioritise this, please PM me a quote for the work.

Thanks
Brendon
