Customization of submit event form was created by runehansen
Hey there,
i have a fairly "big" question. I love the extention, but the submit event form is a bit too complicated for our users. So i'd like to simplify it. However, if i comment out the fields and tabs i get an error saying:
Calendar.setup:
Nothing to setup (no fields found). Please check your code.
This is of course because the calendar wants the info from some of the fields i've removed. Is there some way to work around this? I have the desired layout as a screendump in a pdf file, but couldn't seem to get it attached here. Let me know if you want it in some other way.
Thanks!

Hi
Unfortunately, I cannot help you to modify the layout of submit event form to meet your own need (this is not in the scope of our support and I am pretty busy these days).
Regarding the calendar error, I would suggest that you remove the fields instead of commenting it and It should be solved. However, other errors might be raised because there are some javascript code to validate the data entered by users in the form.

Hi, Just for the record, the submit event form is also too complicated for my needs. I'm going to try to work around it, but it would be great if you'd consider making the submit event form more customizable in the future. I'm sure there are others out there who'd appreciate the option of making event entries easier for there users.
Thanks for a great component!

Hi
The problem is that the submit events form not only used for registered users, it is also used for managers of the websites (which admin doesn't want to give them access to back-end), so the form needs to have all features like how it is in the back-end.

Would it be possible to give managers the option of using a different form for front end submission? There are some fields I'd like to control from the back end only. For example, I'd prefer the user submit and I publish the event. The user has some control, but I'm the final decision maker.
Or, maybe you could let the manager configure their own front end submission form somehow. Like I said, I love your component and I'm using it. It's just harder to get my users to enter their own events when the form is loaded down with fields that don't apply to our situation.
Thanks again for the great component!

I'm not sure if I should be making a new thread, but here goes. I sort of followed a suggestion you made to another guy about deleting unnecessary fields from the add event form on the front end and it looks like it worked. I basically just located the tables in form.php and deleted them.
The only weird thing is that now when I click the little calendar icons to choose a date, the calendar popup displays out of sight at the top center of the page. It actually displays behind my top horizontal menu. This feature was working as expected prior to the change I made in form.php, so I'm thinking it's related somehow, but I have no idea how.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
