Events by Category Module?

Is there a way to list events by category? I installed what I thought would be the module for it, but it does not show up as a module option on my backend.

You can create a menu item to link to category layout of Event Booking to display events from a specific category .

I wasn't interested in a menu link. As posted elsewhere in this forum, I already have that. I was interested in being able to display in separate boxes on the front page "upcoming events" but being able to separate them out by category. In this instance, it's "Dances" and "Workshops" for our purposes. Is there a means to do that?

I understand what you want now and I confirm that it is possible. In Up-coming events module, there is a parameter called Category IDs which allows you to enter id of categories which you want to display events from. So basically, the solution with your problem is :

1. Use copy function in Joomla to make two instance of up-coming events module, one for Dances and one for Workshops

2. Click on the module in Modules manager, for the first module, enter ID of Dances category into Category Ids parametter. For the second module, enter Id of Workshops category into Category ids parameter .

3. Load the two modules on the front-page of your site .
