You still need to enter information on registration form in order to register for the event (but you can turn off any fields on registration form - except First Name and Email - so that you don't have enter the information you don't want) .
If you are using Communty Builder on your site, you can go to Event Booking -> Configuration, looks at Fields Mapping tab to map the fields in Community Builder with the fields on Event Booking . By doing that, when users logged in and register for an event, the data stored in his profile will be used to fill-in registration form automatically and they won't have to enter it again !
