Set an Open Registration date for an event

Hopefully this is just an oversight on my part but I can't seem to find where you can set an open date/time for registration of an event. The cut-off date is apparent but I need a Open or Start Date. As a work around, I would just wait to publish it until it's open but if I don't publish the event, it won't allow me to configure custom fields to that event.
Any help is appreciated - event is supposed to open tomorrow and I can't get it set up properly!

I am sorry. Right now, the extension doesn't have an Open Date (something like Publish Up date). As soon as you publish the event, it will be showed on the front-end of the site .

The solution for this problem now is that you can Disable Registration for the Event which you are setting up so users cannot register for it. To do that, simply set Registration Type property of the Event to Disable Registration .
