One last thing Tuan - your date formats don't seem to respond to the normal PHP formats ("M" for a three-letter version of the month for example). Is there a way to format this in the component config without hacking your code? I'd like to output "16 Jul, 2011".

It is not hacking code . The date format is configurable from back-end of your site. Go to Event Booking -> Configuration, Looks at Event Date Format config option and change it to meet your need .

That format is used for Joomla 1.6. The format I sent you before is used for Joomla 1.5 .
